The Streaming Giant Selects Spot-On Performer for Bentham in One Piece Season 3

The Secret Organization is poised to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, although the major clash won’t take place until the next season, and a beloved, popular member has now been chosen.

Netflix announced Tuesday that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Mr. 2. The role has the ability to morph into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will play a interpretation of that figure reinterpreted as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, as in the initial comic and animated series.

The new cast member is joined by several other new cast members who will portray the organization to the screen, featuring chief Sir Crocodile, portrayed by the well-known actor, an emerging star as Miss Goldenweek, and a familiar face, who is also part of the lineup as the monarch of Alabasta.

Although the role is a key figure of Baroque Works, the character won’t appear until One Piece the upcoming installment. With the next season likely to portray the Little Garden segment, this signals a significant shift in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal more adjustments to the narrative framework.

Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the role. Along with their latest vocal work in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and numerous honors for writing and starring in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.

Netflix's live-action One Piece program is set to return for its season two on the tenth of March, 2026.
