Approximately 55,000 homes have reportedly been impacted by the weather, with their possessions and shelters damaged.

Heavy rains over the recent period have worsened the extremely difficult situation of the vast number of evacuated residents in the region, as stated by relief agencies.

"Awful" Night Creates Serious Dangers

A spokesman described the previous night's conditions as "awful", with downpours so intense that as much as 15cm (6in) of water accumulated on the terrain.

"The recent weather was really horrendous for the families. The downpours were so strong... And the winds were so forceful," stated the representative.

There is extreme anxiety that minors residing in temporary structures in wet garments will contract hypothermia and other illnesses.

Deaths and Widespread Damage

Medical officials have stated that one baby has succumbed from the cold and a minimum of 11 other people have died in building collapses triggered by the severe weather.

Further statements suggest a higher fatality count. Spokespeople reported that multiple structures had collapsed completely and many others had sustained partial collapse.

  • Roughly 55,000 families harmed by flooding.
  • More than 40 designated refuges severely flooded.
  • Countless residents compelled to move once more.

Relief Operations Deemed Insufficient

Agencies have escalated shipments of tents, blankets and clothing following the halt in hostilities commenced, but they have said there is remains not enough aid getting in.

"Agencies are striving constantly to bring in that aid and to distribute it, but the magnitude of the necessities is so immense that we are faced with many thousands of people and minors who are truly enduring hardship every night," warned one spokesperson.

Ongoing Issues and Agreement Terms

The second phase of the truce includes plans for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with political arrangements, the pullback of personnel, and other provisions.

Relief organizations have underscored the imperative for "expanded and ongoing aid to respond to immediate and future requirements."

The hostilities was triggered by an offensive in the autumn of 2023. Later campaigns have led to a substantial number of lives lost in the area, based on medical data.
