Martínez Brace Keeps Inter Milan in Pursuit of Frontrunners
Inter striker Lautaro Martínez scored a late double to earn his team a 2-0 victory at Pisa, keeping the visitors very much engaged in the Serie A championship battle despite a less than convincing display.

Inter arrived in Tuscany aiming to return to winning ways after suffering a loss to rivals by Milan last weekend, followed by a European defeat at Atlético Madrid. Nonetheless, they were made to battle throughout by promoted Pisa. The hosts created plenty of opportunities, but a clinical Inter scored the opener in the 69th minute mark when Argentinian Martínez smacked a first-time shot into the top of the net. The attacker then tapped in from close range seven minutes from time.
The team’s capacity to convert even with difficult circumstances was crucial in earning three points.

In Spain, the Basque side mounted a dramatic comeback from 2-0 down to equalize at home against Villarreal, only to succumb to a late strike five minutes into stoppage time. Later on Spanish match, Real Madrid travel to Girona needing a victory to go back to the top above Barcelona, who recorded a 3-1 win over Alavés on Saturday.
