David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

The comedian

Acclaimed writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

An official for the firm commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was made after an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable directed at female individuals.

The firm declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, having sold over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles altogether, including a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
